Edward Lee Butler, age 76, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018. He was born on October 3, 1941 in Harrisburg, Illinois, to Carrol Cliffton and Mary Elizabeth Butler, who precede him in death along with his brothers: Marvin Butler and Mitchell Butler. Edward was an avid hunter and fisherman who was a big fan of NASCAR, and Jeff Gordon in particular. He was a guitarist for his band ‘The Original VIPs’, and a truck driver for Morris Brothers and Byers Paper Company, where he was also a manager.

Edward is survived by his wife of 58 years: Judith Ann Butler; sons: Edward Lee, Jr., John Ray (Joy Lynn), and Jerry Dean (Kathy Elizabeth); daughters: Patricia JoAnn (Keith Aaron), and Diana Lynn (Victor); brother: Cliffton; sisters: Carolyn and Linda; fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis, IN. 46227.
