John "Jack" William McGlaughlin

John “Jack” William McGlaughlin, age 80, of Cloverdale, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018. He was born on February 14, 1938 in Indianapolis to the late James and Sylvia (Wade) McGlaughlin. He was a member of the American Legion Post 281 in Cloverdale, having served his country in the United States Navy. Jack was also a member of Local 440 Plumbers and Pipefitters, and St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Greencastle. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather who enjoyed going fishing, hunting, to auctions and yard sales, and was talented in woodworking.
He is survived by his wife: Debbie McGlaughlin of Cloverdale; twelve children; sisters: Ida Butler of Indianapolis, and Sandy (Kerrie) Bowling of Indianapolis; thirty-five grandchildren; fifty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Jack is also preceded in death by his sister: Geraldine Bailey; and brothers: Herb McGlaughlin, and Jimmy McGlaughlin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery.
