Robert Lee "Bob" Cooper, Sr.

Robert L. Cooper, Sr., age 94, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 16, 2019. He was born on December 9, 1924 in Crawfordsville to Everett and Bessie Cooper. Bob served his country in the United States Army in WWII and was known as a jokester, an avid golfer, and a magician extraordinaire. He was a member of the Greenwood VFW Post 5864, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 1005 in Crawfordsville, and the Indianapolis Old Time Printers Association. Bob is survived by his children: Robert L. Cooper, Jr. of Indianapolis, Linda (Bob) Locke of Indianapolis, and Kathy (Ed) Smith of Noblesville; as well as grandchildren: Jason, Chris, Erin, and Noah; and great-grandchildren: Taylor, Carlie, Riley, Ella, and Mason. He is preceded in death by his wife: Mary Cooper; parents: Everett and Bessie Cooper; and brothers: James Cooper and Bill Cooper.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
